Perajin Tapis Lampung Berusaha Pecahkan Rekor MURI 

 

Sebanyak 1.200 perajin dan siswa SMK/SMA di Lampung membuat cucuk selendang kain tapis sepanjang 500 meter dalam upaya memecahkan rekor Muri sebagai kain selendang bercorak khas daerah terpanjang.

Upaya pemecahan rekor Muri membuat cucuk selendang kain tapis itu berlangsung di Lapangan Korpri kompleks perkantoran gubernur Lampung, Senin, dihadiri Ketua Umum Dewan Kerajinan Nasional (Dekranas) Indonesia, Herawati Boediono.

Pengerjaan cucuk selendang kain tapis ditentukan waktunya dan harus selesai dalam lima jam yang dikerjakan atau ditenun oleh 800 perajin dan 400 siswa SMK/SMA se-Lampung.

Herawati Boediono yang juga isteri Wakil Presiden RI Boediono dalam kesempatan itu juga melihat secara langsung cara pembuatan cucuk selendang kain tapis yang berbahan benang emas tersebut.

Kehadiran Ketua Umum Dekranas Indonesia itu juga dalam rangka memperingati HUT ke-32 Dekranas.

Herawati dalam kesempatan itu mengatakan, kerajinan tradisional harus dijaga dan dipertahankan seperti tenun kain tapis asal Lampung.

Selain itu, promosi juga dibutuhkan untuk mengenalkan budaya kerajinan tradisional itu, tidak hanya ditingkat lokal tetapi juga mancanegara.

Ia dalam kesempatan itu juga memberikan apresisiasi upaya pemecahan rekor Muri cucuk selendang kain tapis yang merupakan kerajinan asli Lampung.

"Saya dengar PNS Pemprov Lampung juga mengenakan baju batik khas daerah itu setiap hari Kamis dan Jumat. Itu sebagai upaya melestarikan dan mencintai budaya daerah," kata dia.

Sementara itu, Gubernur Lampung Sjachroedin ZP mengatakan, perajin kain tapis dan kerajinan tradisional lainnya harus mengembangkan kreativitas sehingga mampu bersaing dengan produk lokal lainnya dari aderah lain.

Promosi dalam rangka memperkenalkan budaya lokal itu lanjut dia, juga harus gencar dilakukan sehingga dapat dikenal tidak hanya di dalam negeri tetapi mancanegara.
